Got up at 4 am and perused the internet.
Took the dog for a walk at 6:15 am.
Did some pool maintenance at 6:45 am. Drank coffee with my wife under our backyard pavillion.
After that, pulled weeds out of my vegetable garden for about an hour.
Spent another hour or so working on my new garage door pergola, lining it all out and adding brackets to the supports.
Just finished lunch. Getting ready to head into Guthrie to buy some black paint for the pergola. The wife will do the painting. I will mow our backyard.
I'll be pretty much spent by then. Will take a shower and eat leftover Hideaway pizza for dinner, then watch a few episodes of Bosch: Legacy on FreeVee.
Will probably be asleep by 8 pm.

I don't know about jealous, but definitely made me feel lazy.
Wife got all the painting finished while I drank beer and lounged by the pool. I even got in and swam a little. Felt great after mowing the yard.
First time this year I've spent significant time in the water. Heat index of 104 helped. We've had a lot of rain and cool days up until this point.
Tomorrow I hope to get the pergola set up. I'll post pics. Then I'll grill steak.

When my grandkids come to visit I cringe.

I've been on all sides of that equation - as a kid, as a lifeguard, and as a parent. Never bothered me at the time, but my tolerance is much lower now that I have my own.

Damn, ginger tea after all that? Maybe with some vodka added. If you have 400 acres of just soybeans, how many acres do you have total?
1450 acres of wheat....500 acres grain sorghum....400 acres soybeans...
after the wheat is harvested this week....all those acres will be planted to soybeans...

This is our first father/son at the club where it’s essentially an “open” type format. Hoping my 11 year old son doesn’t get spooked by the seriousness of it all. Fingers crossed.

Been there. After my junior year in college I got a job with Cities Service O&G for the summer. They put me in a company-paid apartment across from the seawall in Galveston. The scenery at the pool on weekends was awesome.
What is the format? Straight up aggregate score or some form of scramble (alternate shot, best ball, etc.)?
