One of the stations I managed back in the day was a Smooth Jazz'er...he was part of a summer concert series we did...I found him to be a very nice guy...not my musicial cup of tea, but props for his soulful and powerful voice...RIP

Ditto. Just watched Red October again a couple of weeks ago. Then I bought the book again and reread it. Hard to believe that it has been more than 35 years since it was written. Also the only Alex Baldwin movie that I have seen. He did OK.

I was kind of disappointed in that whole deal, but he did OK, he just wasn't Irvin Irving from the books. I've seen the first two John Wicks and he was very good in his role as the hotel concierge. I'll have to go re-watch them and the third.
My first remembrance of him was his portrayal of Oenomaus in Spartacus. He was perfect for that role and was a bad man. He will always be Doctore to me. What really sucks is that Wikipedia doesn't even mention his role in the Spartacus series. Very odd?
RIP Oenomaus.
His name is Peter Mensah.

A former engineer, Mensah came to Canada 11 years ago. He'd worked for British Gas developing gas fields at Morecambe Bay and had done theatre in school. He comes from an academic family. Probably because the guy who played Oenomaus was not Lance Reddick.

Well then my favorite role that I've seen would be the concierge. He simply wasn't Chief Irving. That's like Sidney Poitier playing Dumbledore. Great actor, but...nah.

As always, the books are WAAAAAAY better, but the character playing Bosch is the picture on the books so it works. Pick up The Black Echo and read the first one. You'll see. My wife is listening to them now on her trip/s to Oklahoma and Iowa. She's already watched the movies and she'll call me going "they sure fucked that whole deal up in the movie, didn't they?" She's up to The Concrete Blonde now.

One of my Dad's favorite movies. I remember my parents taking us to see it at a drive-in in Tulsa when I was a kid.
When pop came home we didn't go to movies for a couple years. I remember he got super pissed when he found out mom went with a couple of her friends to see Dr. Zhivago at the Fox when he was gone to Vietnam. Heh. The good ol' days...finally he caved in and we all went to see Blackbeard's Ghost and Hang em' High. Also remember The Green Beret. We saw more, but I don't remember them. Pop became a big Clint Eastwood guy after that. He was huge on westerns and loved John Wayne too.

My very first movie was The Cross & the Switchblade and we saw it at Fox Downtown in Tucson with a church group. Remember it vividly. Held hands with Esther Frampton. Then my mom would let our older cousin (who ended up becoming a Mormon) who lived with us take us to drive ins with her boyfriend while mom was at work waitressing. First one I remember was Duel at Diablo at The Cactus Drive in, and it scared the shit out of me when the indians roasted the guy on a wagon wheel over coals. Remember seeing The Sound of Music (fell asleep), 101 Dalmatians, and some other Disney stuff.
