The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post Saturday that Assistant Director of Corrections Vicki White disappeared while escorting an inmate being held on capital murder charges. The inmate is also missing.

White left the detention center with inmate Casey White on Friday morning and neither has been seen since. The pair are not related.

The vehicle they were traveling in when they left the detention center was discovered at a nearby shopping center parking lot, according to the sheriff's office.

An Alabama corrections officer and an inmate accused of capital murder have gone missing after the female officer claimed she was taking him to a mental health evaluation.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) Assistant Director of Corrections Vicki White and suspected killer Casey Cole White vanished without a trace on Friday morning after leaving the local jail together, according to authorities.

The sheriff’s office said that Ms White, who is no relation to the inmate, picked him up from the detention centre at around 9.30am claiming that she was to take him for a mental health evaluation at Lauderdale County Courthouse.

She told her coworkers that once she had escorted him to court she was going to seek medical attention for herself as she felt unwell.

They never arrived at the courthouse and neither the corrections officer nor the inmate have been seen since.

Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton said at a press conference on Friday that they have since learned that there was no mental health evaluation or court appointment scheduled for Mr White on Friday.

I remember that story, Bobby Parker was the warden’s wife’s name. She ran away with Dial, lived together on a chicken fame in Texas for over a decade…then tried to claim she was a hostage, beaten, raped, drugged, etc. She was convicted…guilty, nobody believed her bullshit story. Dial is dead now.

She lied about the reason for removing him from the jail, and she broke protocol by not bringing along a 2nd corrections officer. Seems like someone else at the jail would have noticed this quickly, but apparently she was the boss, so no one questioned her.

They may have even gotten married. I don't remember for sure. But Stafford's Wiki page says he was married twice while on death row.

She won’t make it 10 years on a chicken farm before getting caught. Society has enough surveillance these days that they’ll track her location in an matter of weeks. Super hard to disappear into society these days without a lot of help…which she won’t have.

I never really thought about it, but I have family in Cali that do "OK", but they basically live in 1000sf older homes. Alabama jail boss Vicki White had ‘special relationship’ with missing inmate

The Alabama jail boss who allegedly absconded with a capital murder suspect had a “special relationship” with the inmate, police said Tuesday.

Vicki White, the assistant director of corrections for Lauderdale County, had gotten cozy with inmate Casey Cole White during her shifts at the rural jail and at some point developed the so-called “special relationship,” the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office said.

“Investigators received information from inmates at the Lauderdale County Detention Center over the weekend that there was a special relationship between Director White and inmate Casey White,” the agency said.

“That relationship has now been confirmed through our investigation by independent sources and means.”

The sheriff’s office declined to expound on what it meant by “special relationship” but on Monday, it announced a warrant for Vicki White’s arrest for permitting or facilitating escape in the first degree.

“We know she participated, whether she did that willingly or if she was coerced, threatened somehow to participate in the case, not really sure. We know for sure she did participate,” Sheriff Rick Singleton said at a press conference.

On Friday morning, Vicki White told staff she was taking the detainee to a mental health evaluation at the county courthouse and wasn’t questioned about it because her primary duty was to transport inmates, Singleton said.

When cops realized they were missing, they discovered there was no such appointment at the courthouse and the pair made no effort to go to the building, instead, ditching their car at a nearby shopping center parking lot and disappearing.

The saga is reminiscent of David Sweat and Richard Matt’s 2015 escape from the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, New York, after the men got romantically involved with prison employee Joyce “Tilly” Mitchell and convinced her to help them escape.

The US Marshals Service has offered a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to Casey White’s capture.

“We consider both of them dangerous and in all probability both of them are armed,” US Marshal Marty Keely said at the press conference.
The inmate was charged with two counts of capital murder in September 2020 after he allegedly stabbed Connie Ridgeway, 58, to death, officials said.

He’d already been serving a 75-year sentence for a 2015 crime spree in which he shot a person and a dog and held another five people at gunpoint, WBRC reported.

Singleton told CNN that Vicki White was a “model” employee and her co-workers are “devastated” by her alleged betrayal.
“I guess we’re trying to hold on to that last straw of hope that maybe for some reason she was threatened and did this under coercion … but absolutely you’d feel betrayed,” Singleton told the outlet.

“All of her co-workers are devastated. We’ve never had any situation like this with Vicki White. She was a model employee.”

His wife got fired that worked there as a guard(they were in there 50’s I’d say).. He asked her, Why?? She gave him some excuse so he went up there demanding an explanation other than what she gave him.

They told him, that’s not the case, she acted unprofessional in her duties. He complained and told them pretty much Bullshit, better have more proof than that… OK.

They popped in a surveillance tape where she was getting railed sexually and willing by a inmate while her “friendgirl” was keeping watch, and then she would keep watch where her “friendgirl” was getting shafted by another inmate.. went on for a while…til they were caught.
