The best new recipe this week was "stir-fried leafy greens."
One bunch each of kale and chard cut in 2 sq inch pieces, Separate thick stems and wok stir fry them in 2 TBL peanut oil for a couple of minutes to get them tender. Add 3 cloves minced garlic, an inch of finely diced ginger for couple of minutes. Add the greens, 1 TBL mirim (or sherry or rice wine), and 2 tsp low sodium soy sauce. Pinch of sugar optional. Served with steamed brown rice and organic black beans cooked in vegetable broth.
It was great. Will do again soon.

I made sausage and eggs last night while batching it. Of course my wife already cooked the sausage and all I had to do was warm it up, but it was good.

I don't get acid reflux or heartburn. I used to, but haven't in a very long time. Would you like me to tell you about the glorious shit I took this morning too? A lectin-free dump for the ages.

You used to be able to find some little holes in the wall who made Sonoran style food, but the last several times I've been to Phoenix I couldn't find any. I know a ton of them in Tucson.

We lost the first game and my flight home wasn't until Sunday, so I got to spend some time in the city. I spent an extra $.50 to get an unlimited transfer on the city bus system. I rode it around all afternoon doing my own sightseeing tour. I still love clam chowder. It's the only seafood that I can stand.
I stopped by Joe Patti's on the way home from the museum and picked up a couple pounds of royal reds. I grilled a 580 Beef sirloin for the FIL, and a ribeye from the walmarts for the wife and I and grilled about a pound of the shrimp. Grilled asparagus, and the wife made some cauliflower.
The shrimp was heavenly. How anyone could say they don't like that is beyond me. It's like not liking sex. Or chocolate. The steaks? Well let me just say this, I ended up eating most of the FIL's sirloin (it was about a pound and a half) and it was a far superior cut of meat than the ribeye from the walmarts. The ribeye wasn't bad...but nope, nowhere near as flavorful or tender as the 580 piece of meat. Probably fattened up on some of cletus' GMO corn.

I fixed red chile bean soup. It was outfuckingstanding.
Soaked chiles in hot water, blended with garlic, white onion, 1 QT unsalted chicken stock, added my own salt. And then strained to filter out the chile skins and seeds. One can of organic pinto beans. Garnish with avocado bites and added a couple of tablespoons of steamed brown rice. And a squeeze of lime.

Wife made scalloped potatoes and ham last night. Ham leftover from Thanksgiving, and she used coconut milk instead of real milk. Her dad, the consumate comfort food dude didn't know the difference and even said "honey, this is the best I've ever had." It was damn good. As long as you don't tell him, he'll eat it. Even if he's eaten it and liked it and then you tell him? He'll never eat it again. Drives me crazy. I don't know why picky eaters bug me so much. Wouldn't even take a bite of gyro meat because "it has mutton in it and I hate mutton."
