Here's my 2nd NFL hero... As a kid I was so excited when Herschel Walker came over from the USFL. I still remember I was so excited that he was going to be signing autographs at the Crossroads Mall and had my picture of him ready to go... but that morning I came down with the freaking Chicken Pox and couldn't go!
My favorite NFL RB to watch until Barry Sanders came along. He would plow a defender with his shoulder and his stiff arm was a knockout punch. Then he would help the guy get up.
I'm taking advantage of boomerdad's post for the picture, but yeah, this was my first NFL guy. Why, I even had a white helmet with those blue horseshoes.
I did have a number of other fave's on the same team, including Ray Berry, Lenny Moore, Big Daddy, and OU's own Bobby Boyd. But Johnny U. was the first one.
