    Dusty and Danny.... This morning

Calling the cultists "Yell" practice douchebaggery. They just went off, fucking hilarious.

I will say this...it's pretty neat to see. Not just the practice itself, which is really cool, but the march across campus around 11:30. It's kind of corny in a vacuum but when you realize how long the theve been doing this is just one reason college football is the greatest sport running, the traditions all schools have.. NIL may ruin it but, right now, it's the best IMO.

sooner fans could learn a thing or 3 from a&m fans..
imagine what some positive energy from the crowd might have done for the team in the first half against kent.....instead of all the grumbling...

I perused TexAgs yesterday morning. The posters are all down on the yell leaders and whatever their other ceremonial groups are, calling them "woke", attention whores, and complaining about them not dressing correctly, being fat, etc.

I read tex-ags yesterday as well, didn't read the thread but the thread title made me laugh, it was titled something like we need female cheerleaders for TV.

The problems begin when the A&M fans take themselves seriously.

We're close with some Aggies who have zero (0) sense of humor about any of it, and we haven't heard a peep since Saturday.

Meanwhile, the closest Fuddruckers to our house burned down... coincidence?

So NIL will ruin cult chants?

Interesting factoid: In their first 50 games coaching at A&M Jimbo has 35 wins, Sumlin had 36. Nothing to yell about.

Grabbing your nuts and squeezing, that dead dog shit, stadium/field is a war memorial, ice cream getups with all male "cheerleaders", forcing tongue at football games on some chick, and chasing students around with swords might be tradition, but it is dumb as fuck and they are a laughingstock.

I can find common ground with just about any reasonable man on any topic.

You wanting OU fans to be like aggy is not reasonable. Striving to be anything aggy is not reasonable.

When your traditions include masturbating into jars, a dog cemetery at the entrance to your stadium, and male-only cheerleaders that emulate The Village People, I don’t want to be a part of that creepy shit.

It’s still gayer than cum on a mustache, which oddly seems to fit right in with the other Aggie traditions.

I didn't mention any of their other traditions. I was only speaking of yell practice. Most if the other stuff they do is certainly dumb and 'gay as cum on a mustache' but midnight yell practice, as a spectator, is pretty cool.

Coupled with transfer restrictions all but gone and expanded playoffs, the landscape is changing and college football is morphing into every other sport out there. College football has been very unique and its why it's been my favorite.

When coaches are making upwards of $10MM per year, making whatever promises to sign recruits, then skipping town for greener pastures, it was only a matter of time. Also, there's no good reason why players shouldn't be allowed to make some money with endorsement deals and being in commercials if those companies are willing to pay them.

From this fan's standpoint, the changes I mentioned are going to have a negative effect on my enjoyment. To what degree? Dont know but the uniqueness of college football is riding off into the sunset.

Everyone hear complaints about NIL for being unregulated and disorganized (although that is usually in bad faith, most people oppose NIL or any money for athletes because it destroys their sense of being above athletes in whatever imaginary hierarchy they made up for themselves), but supposing their objects were in good faith (they usually aren't), the reason it is in this situation was that the NCAA fought it tooth and nail as opposed to working to make a more effective framework that would have benefitted all parties.

As a fan, which I am, it's not. Coupled with transfer restrictions all but gone and expanded playoffs, the landscape is changing and college football is morphing into every other sport out there. College football has been very unique and its why it's been my favorite.
Both sides aren't really equal. A player actually being able to make some money for his own work is more than worth the trade-off of some random fan being slightly less entertained. Athletes aren't our circus animals.

And that's good for them. I'm a fan tho and watch college football to be entertained. The player's entertainment value pays for their NILs. The less entertaining they become because of these changes, the less valuable their NILs will be.
