Colorado State has a football program that is scheduled to play in 2023. They have a stadium they play in with fans who sometimes attend, usually in small numbers.

    Should be interesting.

Who cares? Do they sell marijuana at the concession stands at their stadium? Are the players allowed to get high before/during the games?

All good questions. I would direct you to soonergrad for all random and non OU related college football questions.

We need a forum for each D-1 team to discuss each team's activities.

Schools that have nicknames of wild animals that live in their state are cool. Colorado has Rams, Buffaloes, and Bears for their three main teams.

I wish one of the schools was Marmots though.

We checked it out, along with CU & AFA on vacation last year. Was it anything to write home about? Nah, but if it was OU’s bye week I’d go spend a Saturday afternoon there ( or the other two for that matter).

I took a job in Spokane, WA, for a month before I came to Oklahoma. It was June-July, and the city park I went to jog was smooth covered with those filthy, verminy creatures. Thousands of them.

When elk hunting in Rabbit Ears, CO, those vile little creatures would start eating the guts while you were cutting them out. No fear.

Compared to Oklahoma is a pretty big difference. People really don't look forward to going on vacation in Oklahoma because the state is a shithole where indian casinos and dirty lakes are the big attractions.. Colorado OTOH and FTCollins/COS are some of the more popular places people from around the world go on vacation. Pikes Peak, RMNP, etc are really popular.

                        Utards are something else though.

Dad told me that Seattle and Virginia Beach,Va. were two cities that in their city parks they had signs that said "NO DRUNKS, DOGS, OR SAILORS ALLOWED". I hunt elk in Kaycee, Wy. and Pemberton,BC.

What would OU be? Diamondbacks is already taken.

Nothing uniique about the nicknames Rams, Buffaloes or Bears. Very few teams have a unique team nickname. Fortunately OU is presently one of those few schools that do have a unique nickname.

This is a page featuring teams with the "Rams" nickname. Colorado State University, Fordham University NY, University of Rhode Island, Virginia Commonwealth University Angelo State University TX, Philadelphia University PA, Shepherd University WV, Winston-Salem State University NC Cornell College IA, Farmingdale State College NY, Framingham State University MA, North Central University MN, Suffolk University MA Bluefield College VA, Huston-Tillotson University TX, University of Mobile AL, Texas

Marmots would be cool. It'll never compete with the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs, but it could maybe be put in the same paragraph.

                                              The psychology of trolling:

Clinical psychologist Naomi Murphy, who works within the dangerous and severe personality disorder service at HMP Whitemoor, agrees.

“The anonymity and distance from actual interaction probably enables people who ordinarily would not behave aggressively to utilise quite hateful behaviour,” she says.

“Those who are able to engage in healthy debate and discussion are probably able to express themselves with less vitriol.

Social media is a great vehicle for people who are passive aggressive.”

Not sure what your intent is, but let me play along. (I suppose that's what such an OT thread is for)

Colorado is one of 6 states I've lived in. (Lived in 5 countries in my adult life as well). Like Oklahoma, it's large and has places to enjoy and places that are not so good. Most of Eastern Colorado is not really places people want to go for tourism, for example.

In the 1980s, I lived for a while in a suburb of Denver. I've traveled back for work a number of times. I don't think it is a bad city, but I just have no desire to move back there. In the many times I've returned to Colorado for a week or two for work, I really enjoyed Colorado Springs, and Denver still isn't bad. I went to Ft. Collins a few times for business at New Belgium Brewery (It really was business). Outside of the brewery and the college, I'm really not sure why someone would go there. I mean, it's better than Ft. Huachuca Arizona (where I had to go for business one week ... ), but still, not a place I'd look forward to going to.

So for me, Colorado is a bit like Oklahoma in that I've lived in both, don't really have anything bad to say about either, but neither is a place I plan to live again, but I'm happy for people who like it in those places.

FWIW, my favorite city out of the ones I've lived in was Busan, South Korea, but I probably won't go back just because my current situation is very good for me, and for my family. I summer in the Cascades of Western Washington, and spend winter in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo ... and that lifestyle just suits me now.

Do you live in Colorado? Is that why the post?

You are right the Eastern part of the state is like Kansas and Oklahoma. Oklahoma is kina of like Kansas, people really just don't look forward to going on vacation there.

What would they even do? Go to an Indian casion or maybe Grand lake is about all I can think of.

When called out, the troll will insist that they’re being civil, and staying on topic. But in reality, their game is to keep the opponent online as long as possible, derailing the original discussion and making the opponent frustrated and angry. Trolls often use sealioning to derail discussions of important but contentious issues.

Tribalism as an online trolling tactic is most often seen in political discussions involving voter groups. It can also show up in discussions about seemingly unrelated issues. Tribalism in online trolling involves making derogatory remarks about the perceived outgroup. Trolls who create intergroup conflict often have a vested interest, such as being part of a political influence operation.

Outside of the brewery and the college, I'm really not sure why someone would go there. I mean, it's better than Ft. Huachuca Arizona (where I had to go for business one week ... ), but still, not a place I'd look forward to going to.

Collins is awesome, but there's no reason for me to go there much outside of passing through on my way to a small concert venue in Poudre Canyon. If one lived in Denver, and didn't want to go out for a day on the town in Boulder (many people don't), you'd gladly make the drive to Ft. Collins to hang out there for the day. It's completely different than going to Estes Park, Breck, or Manitou Springs for the day (less tourists)

If Oklahoma were to have a wild animal name it might be good to use a catch all name. Something like the University of Oklahoma Varmints... something like that.

But the Sooners are unique to only 1 school. You cannot say that about teams that use a wild animal as their nickname. In the SEC there are 3 schools (Auburn, LSU & Missouri) that use tigers plus Georgia and Mississippi State that are bulldogs.
