Normally, I think Nebraska has averaged something like 6 of its regular-season games as played in the noon tv time slot, could that hurt in recruiting..?

On a bright note... OU has better depth so a hot day might help

I was hoping this would be a night game. Unfortunately, Nebraska sucks and they are not ready for prime time.

The action by the network in light of the following statement only show why OU needs to leave the Big 12 when they couldn't care less about how this impacts OU and its fans.

There have been so many home 11 AM games that some OU fans are starting to opt out of season ticket purchases

Is that player then considered selfish..? In an era of NIL coming up would that hurt potential hometown advertisements of the "local kid" that went to OU..?

Yes, this isn't pleasant but it clearly states XII tried to work with Oklahoma to get a better spot, but FOX only has 2 mainstream channels: FOX/ FS1 now...

Umm which conference you want OU in again, FOX is the majority partner in 3rd tier with B1G, which stuck Nebraska on at 11:00am 8x a few years ago...

Sometimes FOX will air a prime time game at 8pm, but not many, so more likely 1 slot most weeks but sometmes (FS1) 2 games...
Ironically, September 2nd the 8pm game of Ohio State & Minnesota on a Thursday/ September 4th also has LSU & UCLA at 8pm...
You'd think it can be done: Oklahoma v Nebraska to at least be played at 2:30 if not 8pm but I don't know who plays later that day...
Maybe FOX will toss OU an 8pm bone next year in 2022 when the Sooners visit Nebraska, since that game will be a B1G game..?
Although I guess ESPN could look to pick up the game as well, but a lot depends on how well the Husker season ends this year...

You would think the Big 12 would want to help give its best possibility of winning a national title a big recruiting weekend. OU NOT winning national titles because of reasons like this can only help cause more OU people to want out of what this conference has become.

It's time to switch your preference from Big Ten to SEC.

https://footballscoop.com/news/oklahoma-joe-castiglione-bitterly-disappointed-fox-11-am-kickoffs-big-noon-kickoff
Thursday's announcement followed an interesting bit of news that came out earlier this week. On Tuesday, the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reported the Big 12 approached ESPN and Fox about re-opening negotiations early, and both networks declined. There could be any number of non-Big 12 specific reasons why those networks would do so, but normally when an entity has a highly-valued property under contract and that property opens the conversation about extending their relationship, the entity signs eagerly. Think the Kansas City Chiefs locking down Patrick Mahomes to a 10-year contract before his rookie deal expired.
In the past 48 hours we've seen Fox turn down the opportunity to extend its relationship with the Big 12, and now the Big 12's marquee program has put Fox publicly on blast. It can be groan inducing to see sports executives talk about their sponsors as "partners," but that really is true when it comes to TV deals. Both the conference and the networks win when people watch Big 12 games, and so both entities should be similarly invested in the product.
But the events of this week may cause Fox to rethink how invested it really wants to be in Big 12 football.

The B1G and SEC have the power and other brand's to do that...the Big 12 not nearly as much

It's a FOX issue, not a conference issue. If you want to avoid a ton of early kicks, don't be in a league that gives FOX marquee inventory.

And they are most likely going to make up their minds after their officials. Maybe a couple can show up for Western Carolina or Taco Tech if they are still available to OU after being wined and dined by Saban, Dabo, and Day.
