We hired an established coach before. Didn’t work out so well. It’s a crapshoot. That being said, OU needs somebody who knows the program and won’t leverage it anymore like Riley did. In five years or less, a bad coach can be let go regardless of who they are. Right now, it’s about saving what Riley went out of his way to destroy.

Oh, and BTW, Venables kicked the shit out of Riley’s offense when they were assistant coaches. That’s worth mentioning.
