You cheap bastards need to get ESPN+. I watched and heard every pitch in crystal high def. Switched back and forth...forth and back with the OU baseball game which was also on the +. You get gymnastics, all the wrestling, even some tennis and soccer and whatever other OU sport you like. For what? $6 a month? Yeah, I don't feel sorry for y'all who lost the radio feed.

Good win, and the starting pitcher for Allburn was pretty good. Had us swinging at junk quite a bit early on. I'd really like to see Sanders and Erickson get that fire lit under them. The regulars all did well. Onward and upward as we head into conference play up in Ames. No TV (at least for now) so I guess we all better hope the radio is working.

No gramps. I guess you never played slow pitch? 300 foot fences for slow pitch. I played on a team sponsored by the USPS that played against some pretty elite big boys. The Silver Bullets beat us one time at a tournament in San Diego 33-4. I stood at the wall in left and then center field watching dinger after dinger go over. If they hit a grounder or pop fly they just turned and went to the dugout. They had a pitcher who could throw a knuckler where you could read the Rawlings the whole way from his hand to the plate.

They had a freaking team bus, and every time one of them would step off, the bus would rock. All ex-football and baseball jocks. Pretty intimidating and humiliating.

Probably happened in 2020 or the early years when they played fewer games….but I can say for sure the game is higher scoring today than it was 30 years ago. So no chance we or any team today sets that record, whatever it is.

You can see the difference when we play some schools that look like they got their uniforms off the rack at local sporting store. Each program does what they can with their budgets so not mocking any team just obvious who has the resources and who doesn't.

My old man took me there for a slow pitch tourney...guessing 1988-89ish. We were in town for a baseball tourney and had some down time. All I remember is the score was something like 39-33. It was insane. They were hitting balls almost to the field adjacent to left field. Back then they had just a few metal bleachers behind/around home plate...no stadium like now. Yesterday was the first time I had been there since then.
