Harris made an E on a throw to first, but the defense overall has been tits. I think this team is gonna make some noise this year.

KP = Spider/Insect bite on his ankle. Taking precautions because they have no idea what bit him but he is trending toward a return soon.

The bats have progressed since the opener...as the O goes, so goes the W' and L's for the time being...pitching is still a work in progress...I'd like to see them attack the strike zone more and let the chips fall...the mental toughness to work through jams will have to come with more innings I suppose.
Hope the Sooners buck the weather forecast and get this game in today...TCU is for sure a yardstick for where the team is and needs to get them where they want to end up.

Douthit works 6+ innings of 1 hit ball, a couple clutch hits - especially the 2-run triple by Spike, and HElls YES, some bullpen for the win! 3-1 in a great ballgame. Toby even gave a shout out to our very own Metes on the berm. Holy shit R, the last time I saw your kids they were literally newborns. Now, they could whip your ass. Even though the sun was shining, I bet it was colder than a witch's titty out there.
Gotta go take the series tomorrow. I feel a lot better after today for sure.

Hey Metes...I am liking the uptick in ballpark promotions...we're going to bring my 5 year old Grand Girl out for a promo game before seasons end...missed mug night...eyeing one of those WS pennants though.
The future is bright...when my soon to arrive Grand Man hits the field for the Sooners he will be playing in a state of the art ballpark with several CWS championship flags flying above him...thinking big.

Watched us go down 3-0. Then watched us come back and tie it up, then watched us go down 5-3, then watched us score 4 in the bottom of the 7th all with 2 outs, and then watched our pen, especially Weber come in for the second time in two days - this time against the top of the order, and hammer the door shut. Again.
This bunch has moxie. Pettis was tits. Carmichael went 3-5, and Orduno went 2-3. They never gave up.
Metes had a much better/cushier set up on the berm today than yesterday too.All in all a great way to start conference play. After Friday night I had concerns...not so much now.

That was a big boy game...late inning game winning runs against the wall versus a fine opponent...what 12 D chess was Skip playing by scratching Spike from the starting line up only to bring him in to deliver in the crunch...kudos to the boys on the bump too...entertaining game and conference opening series winner...treated to a TCU coach tossing at the end and little jib and jab talk after the game...this group runs on piss and vinegar...well done Sooners!

Fucking wind on Saturday took the Carmichael's canopy toward the LNC! lol No way we were gonna set ours up. Sunday really wasn't bad at all. I am ready for short sleeves and shorts tho!

Walk, walk, blah blah blah and it was another L to those fuckers. I'm getting to dislike them as much as Texas. Atwood pitched 4 good innings so there was that, but dang it, I'm so tired of those guys having our number.

Just a rough night all around. Bats kept us in it but pitching collapsed. Skip has to play a game with his pitch counts during mid week games but I think we could have stuck with Atwood a tad longer and still had him available for this weekend.
listened to it. Should have clarified. The pen, I had less confidence in everyone he brought in than I did Webber. I was waiting for the relievers to collapse, Atwood struggled and gave up the run, but not too bad for him. Once they got to Webber with a lead I exhaled. Unfortunately my over confidence was not rewarded.

Is it just me, or has this been a stupid cold spring? I mean it's 70-78 every day here in Navarre, but the girls softball and the boys baseball teams have played most of their games in some pretty raw conditions. I know, it's cold and raw for the other team too...

Lost game 1 last week...looking for an even up today and a solid pitching effort...zero crooked number innings would be nice.

Bottom of the 4th blew up my no crooked inning dream in a big way...kudos to the boys for making it interesting...one thing about them, they do not quit...so close to having a ball club that can make some postseason noise...the pitching holes have to get plugged...there are nine to play tomorrow to get a win...next.
