Toby just said injured on Clark and Pettis

7-6 final. Got a little tight there in the 8th. Some seeing eye and lucky ass ground balls, but a great relay/throw to home to keep them from tying it up.

Alright…weathered the late inning storm and wrapped up the sweep.

        Boomer Sooner!

Looks like things are trending in the right direction. We get TCU right off the bat in conference play next weekend. Should be a good barometer of where this team is at this point.

Stacking wins is the best thing for this young team's confidence, so it's all we can hope for at this point. Hopefully they continue this trend as conference play opens up!

I've been able to watch several games this year. The hitters are becoming more and more confident/aggressive at the plate, we're running a lot and I can slowly see, oh I don't know...some chemistry happening here? Pitching is a bit behind, but some guys are starting to separate themselves a bit. That shaky 8th inning against UH wasn't really the pitchers' fault. They threw ground balls that found little holes, a catcher interference and a twister that hit the bag and kind of stopped. Hell of a play at the plate to stop the tying run from scoring as well.

Harris made an E on a throw to first, but the defense overall has been tits. I think this team is gonna make some noise this year.

Wally = Fractured Scapula - Hoping he will be back for the weekend but will be back soon as he is ready.

KP = Spider/Insect bite on his ankle. Taking precautions because they have no idea what bit him but he is trending toward a return soon.

I must've missed something, but how in the world do you fracture your scapula playing baseball? Did he get hit by a pitch?....or dive awkwardly?

They have not gone into detail on how it happened.

Clark was hit by a pitch in the Ohio State game in Frisco on 3/5. Tried to play the first game against UNLV a couple of days later but left after one AB, I believe. Just has to let it heal.

So you don't say a single word while we're winning 5 in a row, but the minute we lose to Wichita St. you feel the need to pipe up. You're a POS.

The bats have progressed since the opener...as the O goes, so goes the W' and L's for the time being...pitching is still a work in progress...I'd like to see them attack the strike zone more and let the chips fall...the mental toughness to work through jams will have to come with more innings I suppose.

Hope the Sooners buck the weather forecast and get this game in today...TCU is for sure a yardstick for where the team is and needs to get them where they want to end up.

Are they switching it to today?

Looking forward to getting the conference play going. I feel like Tuesday night was really cold up there and Skip was wanting to see where some the pitchers are at. If I remember I think we used seven or eight arms. It's time to get it going. Win the home series and steal a few on the road and we will be in good shape.

I watched for a while last night. Davis wasn't horrible...he just didn't have it, and TCU's hitters look like mid-season form against our pen. Every reliever gave up at least a run. I was expecting every pitch to be rocked.

Today is a new day. Hope we find some solid pitching...

Douthit works 6+ innings of 1 hit ball, a couple clutch hits - especially the 2-run triple by Spike, and HElls YES, some bullpen for the win! 3-1 in a great ballgame. Toby even gave a shout out to our very own Metes on the berm. Holy shit R, the last time I saw your kids they were literally newborns. Now, they could whip your ass. Even though the sun was shining, I bet it was colder than a witch's titty out there.

Gotta go take the series tomorrow. I feel a lot better after today for sure.

Good to see some Spikerman success...the Sooners need him to heat up...1 hit and 1 walk from the pen to preserve a hell of an outing from BD...I really liked the answer in the 8th...lotso grit...no quit bunch...Boomer!

Hey Metes...I am liking the uptick in ballpark promotions...we're going to bring my 5 year old Grand Girl out for a promo game before seasons end...missed mug night...eyeing one of those WS pennants though.

The future is bright...when my soon to arrive Grand Man hits the field for the Sooners he will be playing in a state of the art ballpark with several CWS championship flags flying above him...thinking big.

Got 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th to take a 7-5 lead.....all hits with 2 out. OU now batting in the 8th. 3 outs away from a really solid start in conference.

Watched us go down 3-0. Then watched us come back and tie it up, then watched us go down 5-3, then watched us score 4 in the bottom of the 7th all with 2 outs, and then watched our pen, especially Weber come in for the second time in two days - this time against the top of the order, and hammer the door shut. Again.

This bunch has moxie. Pettis was tits. Carmichael went 3-5, and Orduno went 2-3. They never gave up.

Metes had a much better/cushier set up on the berm today than yesterday too. All in all a great way to start conference play. After Friday night I had concerns...not so much now.

We battled back multiple times and going into the top of the 9th I'm thinking "we got this now." Then Weber starts walking people. Walk, walk, blah blah blah and it was another L to those fuckers. I'm getting to dislike them as much as Texas. Atwood pitched 4 good innings so there was that, but dang it, I'm so tired of those guys having our number.

CC gave up a Jack on his 2nd pitch. Walks all around. Just a rough night all around. Bats kept us in it but pitching collapsed. Skip has to play a game with his pitch counts during mid week games but I think we could have stuck with Atwood a tad longer and still had him available for this weekend.

The pen, I had less confidence in everyone he brought in than I did Webber. I was waiting for the relievers to collapse, Atwood struggled and gave up the run, but not too bad for him. Once they got to Webber with a lead I exhaled. Unfortunately my over confidence was not rewarded.

Had to go grill some steaks and came back and K-state had scored a bunch of runs so I let my FIL switch over to the Iowa girls basketball game.

I mean it's 70-78 every day here in Navarre, but the girls softball and the boys baseball teams have played most of their games in some pretty raw conditions. I know, it's cold and raw for the other team too...
