Watched some of the LA/Edm game last night. Garbage officiating as usual in these games.

Kings up 3-1 get a penalty for tripping leading to the Edm 2nd goal via PP. It was a decent call
An Edm player has his stick in the skates of a kings player behind the goal line, trips him, takes puck, feeds guy in front of goal, game tied up 3-3, no tripping call.
Makes me laugh when I watch.

My ex-in-laws are from Minnesota, but one of my ex-BILs moved to Dallas in the mid-80s. He claimed to be the only true knowledgeable hockey fan in Dallas. When the Stars moved there he got season tickets and was known for giving the opposing teams hell. He had an entourage of people who liked to sit in his section. The Observer even did a story about him.

I went to a game with him at Reunion when Gretzky and the Rangers came to town.

He spent the entire game yelling "Somebody fucking check Gretzky.". Of course, Gretzky was old and no one would dare touch him.

I kept my eyes on Gretzky the whole game. He didn't do much except skate figure eights, occasionally passing in front of the goal.

It finally happened. Gretzky had swooped in front of the goal and was headed away. Someone took a shot that hit the post and bounced over Gretzky's shoulder. How he knew it was there, I have no idea, but he caught it with his stick and casually flipped it back over his shoulder toward the goal and scored. That was pretty cool.

That’s awesome. Damn I barely remember the Stars playing at Reunion Arena. I keep saying that I need to go to more Stars games and might try to go to a game in the next series.

There are a lot of soccer fans in OKC. Mostly Mexicans. We have a pro team, but they are several notches below the MLS.
