Anyone heard of anyone on the current roster entering the transfer portal? Any word on anyone looking to transfer to OU from the portal?

That would be like Durant transferring from OKC to Golden State! I'd be shocked if Brady transferred anywhere.

But all shortshops dreaming of a ring surely notice Lyons won't be back. I have no idea who might be interested and good enough to compete.

If it's nobody, then there are options for us already. Brito played SS at Oregon. And Torres and Lilio can play 3rd, were Brito to move over. And of course Avery Hodge could compete for Short.

Just one teammate hears about it ( maybe even reading it here), asks her about it, she doesn’t deny it or says she’s not sure, and uncertainty/distraction sets in through the team. All in the middle of a championship run.
It probably could have waited until season was over. Storako might have meant who do we want that’s out there, if anyone.

The 2022 SEC Freshman of the Year, Ellis earned all-conference honors and was a top-10 finalist for National Freshman of the Year in her rookie season.

During the first two seasons of her career, Ellis owns a .288 batting average, 34 home runs, 16 doubles, 96 RBIs, and a slugging percentage of .685. In her sophomore season in 2023, Ellis hit .275 with 14 home runs and 47 RBIs. Her 32 walks on the season also set a career high.

No…285 batting averages are a dime a dozen. We want .360 minimum and a hell of a fielder if we take a portal player IMO

The .685 slugging is interest though…so maybe, but maybe not.

Ellis could be a find, but she's been playing 1st base. We have Sanders and Erickson and a incoming freshman there.

But maybe she's interested in texas. She's from Houston.

No just an interesting player with some accolades. Her batting average isnt great, but her homers and slugging % are pretty good.

Hearing rumor that Liberty catcher Caroline Hudson and pitcher Karlie Keeney are in the portal….Keeney is absolutely outstanding, certainly a top 15 D1 pitcher despite having limited run support and below average fielding backing her up.

Her 2.03 ERA is a lot like Hope’s was at UNT…she was their ace, they used her twice a weekend plus relief, she pitched a lot of tired innings, she had below average defense around her. Keeney would do very well for a Top 10 team.

Her and Hudson are BFFs, so likely a package deal for whatever team is interested.

Hudson is a solid hitter with power…started every game from the day she arrived at Liberty. Both will be super seniors. Gonna be a nice pick up for whatever team lands them if the portal rumor is correct.

Hearing Karla Beaver of Central ArKansas is in the portal too. 1.15 era…she’s absolutely a Top 10 pitcher…if rumor is true, she’s a good target.

I know we have legit pitcher and Patty may not go after one…but I suspect a lot of the big names at small schools are all gonna be in motion this year. And everyone will stock up and try to be 3 deep like OU.

IMO OU should take one senior transfer every year for every senior transfer that graduates AND bring in one from high school for every pitcher that came to us from HS that leaves or graduates…

Think the conventional wisdom is the C. Arkansas pitcher is already on course for Arkansas. I seriously doubt Gasso goes after a pitcher with Deal, May, and Bahl returning plus another freshman in the wings.

I *do* think she'd be looking at a bat to replace Haley Lee, however. I just don't know if a hitter with a lower *average* but good power numbers is what Gasso wants.

I look at it this way: If Patty wants someone, there's a darned good chance she'll get her. If she *doesn't* want her, I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it.
