Right. Says the guys who comes from left field and thinks he's like uber insulting and like oh so cutting edge. Blow me loser.

In other golf news…USGA wants to roll back the ball back similar to that of the 90s. Idk if they will push it through, but regardless, we’re likely near the end of the distance chase. JT is not a fan, and I’m sure there will be others speaking out on it.

Boy. Talk about a choke job. At least playing together they could hold hands as the crashed and burned.

A little context would be nice. Why would they be holding hands?

Agreed. I do question Spieth being a whorn - he went there only 3 semesters...

Setting foot on that campus is enough.

It's not just that...there's just something about him that makes it easy to not like him. He's a bit of a whiner, and he's just one of those guys who rubs me the wrong way. You know it's bugging me when I'm pulling for a dang foreigner over Spieth. In the second or third round Fleetwood was making some noise and I was hoping he'd blow Spieth's doors off.

I like Justin Thomas, Rory, Rahm, Morikawa and a few others. Kim Si Woo intrigues me a bit. Shane Lowry cracks me up, Other golfers who just bug me are Scheffler as already posted, Fowler and Hovland cause aggy, Keegan Bradley (I knew a kid growing up named Keegan and he was the biggest douche mama's boy you ever saw), and Patrick Cantlay. Cantlay is an enigma though. He just looks like someone who needs his face punched in, but I like his game, his moxie and he seems like a nice guy.

I guess it's all because they're all so fucking good at the game and I suck so bad? The level these guys play at every week is almost super human.

I was thinking about Spieth, you're right that's enough time. I have to look no further than Kyler Murray - he was at OU for what a year? Year and a half? I guess Spieth is in fact a whorn. Hasn't won in awhile, he's slipping. Hate to see it. haha

                          Yeah. Until he wins again.

I guess Texas doesn’t really bother me. I always enjoyed going to Dallas for the weekend. Great atmosphere. But as far as hatred not that much. I get tired of us playing ISU or someone snd our fans are throwing horns down. To me all the games matter.

There was an old saying that you’re hired to best Texas but you have to beat OSU to keep your job. Maybe thst doesn’t matter anymore.

Murray was actually at OU for 3 years: 3 seasons in football and 2 in baseball. Sat out the 2016 seasons of both due to transfer rules and sat behind Baker when he came back for 2017.

Technically, the concept will linger for a few more days with this week’s WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play set to mark the unofficial swansong.
The World Golf Championships — a bold concept born from the threat of a potential rival league led by Greg Norman (sound familiar?) — have died. They were 24.

IBM (NYSE: IBM) and the Masters Tournament, today introduced two innovative new features as part of the award-winning Masters app and Masters.com digital experience, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) generated spoken commentary. Expanding on the popular MyGroup feature — which enables patrons of the Masters digital platforms to watch every shot, on every hole, from all their favorite players — the AI commentary solution will produce detailed golf narration for more than 20,000 video clips over the course of the Tournament. It is the latest example of how IBM and the Masters are working together to create digital fan experiences that offer unparalleled access and in-depth insights into every moment of the Tournament, from the first drive on the first tee to the final putt on the 18th green.

Experts from IBM iX, the experience design partner within IBM Consulting, worked with the Masters digital team to leverage multiple foundation models — including IBM Watson Text-to-Speech – to train the AI in the unique language of golf at the Masters, automating the process of adding spoken commentary to video clips. Generative AI built on foundation models was applied to produce narration with varied sentence structure and vocabulary, avoiding redundant play-by-play iterations to make the clips informative and engaging.

I've killed more turkeys than I can count. My favorite hunt of all time. Quick, exciting and if they ain't there, you go home. Don't have to worry about scent - so you can douse in Off to keep the ticks and chiggers off. Don't have to walk for miles, or sit a stand for hours and hours. I've shot them pretty much everywhere but on the roost - which is punk hunting. I've called them in to less than 10 feet from me. I've had hens walk across my boots while sitting still. I've shot them running, and killed a tom who graced my living room wall in flight. He wasn't the biggest tom I ever killed by a long shot, but he was a pretty bird and it was probably my best shotgun shot in my life. About 40 yards, flying maybe 45-50 mph, dropped him like a rock with a 3 1/2" magnum with #4 shot.

All that said, golf is harder, more cerebral, more aggravating, more frustrating, and some times more rewarding that any turkey hunt. Any 9 year old with an adult who knows how to call/set up can kill a huge tom. Any 9 year old, being coached by the best coach in the world will still pretty much suck at golf. Unless his name is Tiger.

Golf isn’t frustrating once you accept the fact that you suck and just go out and enjoy yourself. My goal is to someday shoot my age. Hopefully I can live to 85.

Is for me. Horribly frustrating. I used to be pretty damn good. I've shot rounds in the 70s many times. I've never broken par on a golf course, but came damn close at Westwood a couple times.

It's my own fault though. I went from playing in leagues 3-5 times a week and tournaments on the weekends to sitting in a fucking truck for 11 years during the prime (well from 53 to 65 years old) of my life. Yes, it made me wealthier. However, it totally fucked over my golf game. Flexibility is gone. I can still chip and putt and it's the only reason I even bother to play every so often. I'm hitting a 4 wood where I used to hit 7 iron. I hit a 8 iron where I used to hit an easy Sand Wedge. And still come up short.

I do enjoy being out there though but I think it's because I only play when the kids/grandkids or company visits. I wouldn't feel comfortable at all going out and getting paired up in a foursome of strangers. Used to love it, cause I'd usually be the best of the 4. Now, I'd just drag everyone down looking for my fucking ball.

Hopefully he will speed his ass up. But the larger point is that I think this is a pretty good indicator that Tiger's tournament days are over, especially given his latest surgery setback.

I went on Friday, was there for about 4 hours. I enjoyed it a bunch, I think the different format was a good change for the fans. You get much closer to the action at the tee boxes, and the music wasn't loud enough to be intrusive. The music probably helps drown out background noise anyway. Lots of family-friendly stuff included as well (ball pit, mechanical bull, impossible putting/chipping challenges) all placed in a central area but away from the fairways. Cedar Ridge looked like it was in pretty good shape, but had a few areas that were obviously worn/damaged. However, I don't think they had very long to get the course into premier shape so I can excuse the minor imperfections. It felt very much like watching a practice round as the players were very relaxed and interacted with the crowd much more than what I saw in two days of the PGA at Southern Hills. I'm not sure if LIV Golf is "making money" at this point, but it certainly has a very good opportunity to bring in a large group of spectators who normally wouldn't attend a golf tournament. The live concert had some decent names at it (although I didn't attend), but if they had advertised the concert a bit better they probably would have grabbed another couple of thousand people. Tickets were something like $39 in advance, $50 day-of, which is almost half the cost of a PGA tournament (and kids under 12 get in free). I hope they come back next year. Heard it supposedly brought in an estimated $30MM to the local economy.
