In other golf news…USGA wants to roll back the ball back similar to that of the 90s. Idk if they will push it through, but regardless, we’re likely near the end of the distance chase. JT is not a fan, and I’m sure there will be others speaking out on it.

It's not just that...there's just something about him that makes it easy to not like him. He's a bit of a whiner, and he's just one of those guys who rubs me the wrong way. You know it's bugging me when I'm pulling for a dang foreigner over Spieth. In the second or third round Fleetwood was making some noise and I was hoping he'd blow Spieth's doors off.
I like Justin Thomas, Rory, Rahm, Morikawa and a few others. Kim Si Woo intrigues me a bit. Shane Lowry cracks me up, Other golfers who just bug me are Scheffler as already posted, Fowler and Hovland cause aggy, Keegan Bradley (I knew a kid growing up named Keegan and he was the biggest douche mama's boy you ever saw), and Patrick Cantlay. Cantlay is an enigma though. He just looks like someone who needs his face punched in, but I like his game, his moxie and he seems like a nice guy.
I guess it's all because they're all so fucking good at the game and I suck so bad? The level these guys play at every week is almost super human.

I guess Texas doesn’t really bother me. I always enjoyed going to Dallas for the weekend. Great atmosphere. But as far as hatred not that much. I get tired of us playing ISU or someone snd our fans are throwing horns down. To me all the games matter.
There was an old saying that you’re hired to best Texas but you have to beat OSU to keep your job. Maybe thst doesn’t matter anymore.

Technically, the concept will linger for a few more days with this week’s WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play set to mark the unofficial swansong. The World Golf Championships — a bold concept born from the threat of a potential rival league led by Greg Norman (sound familiar?) — have died. The Masters is full of traditions not just for the players, but for the patrons at Augusta National Golf Club. Unfortunately, one won't be there in 2023. I saw a demo of this on TV yesterday. Very accurate, but boring as hell. Kind of like Jim Nantz.
IBM (NYSE: IBM) and the Masters Tournament, today introduced two innovative new features as part of the award-winning Masters app and Masters.com digital experience, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) generated spoken commentary. Expanding on the popular MyGroup feature — which enables patrons of the Masters digital platforms to watch every shot, on every hole, from all their favorite players — the AI commentary solution will produce detailed golf narration for more than 20,000 video clips over the course of the Tournament. It is the latest example of how IBM and the Masters are working together to create digital fan experiences that offer unparalleled access and in-depth insights into every moment of the Tournament, from the first drive on the first tee to the final putt on the 18th green.
Experts from IBM iX, the experience design partner within IBM Consulting, worked with the Masters digital team to leverage multiple foundation models — including IBM Watson Text-to-Speech – to train the AI in the unique language of golf at the Masters, automating the process of adding spoken commentary to video clips. Generative AI built on foundation models was applied to produce narration with varied sentence structure and vocabulary, avoiding redundant play-by-play iterations to make the clips informative and engaging.
There has been a lot of recent discussion of the impact of artificial intelligence on many creative fields, from art to writing. In sports, we’ve already seen this with AI-written previews and recaps of some events, and we’ve seen it recently with firms like VS using AI-powered educational technology to let fans “talk” with athletes Read more... All that said, golf is harder, more cerebral, more aggravating, more frustrating, and some times more rewarding that any turkey hunt. Any 9 year old with an adult who knows how to call/set up can kill a huge tom. Any 9 year old, being coached by the best coach in the world will still pretty much suck at golf. Unless his name is Tiger.

I've shot them pretty much everywhere but on the roost - which is ypunk hunting. I've called them in to less than 10 feet from me. I've had hens walk across my boots while sitting still. I've shot them running, and killed a tom who graced my living room wall in flight. He wasn't the biggest tom I ever killed by a long shot, but he was a pretty bird and it was probably my best shotgun shot in my life. About 40 yards, flying maybe 45-50 mph, dropped him like a rock with a 3 1/2" magnum with #4 shot.

It's my own fault though. I went from playing in leagues 3-5 times a week and tournaments on the weekends to sitting in a fucking truck for 11 years during the prime (well from 53 to 65 years old) of my life. Yes, it made me wealthier. However, it totally fucked over my golf game. Flexibility is gone. I can still chip and putt and it's the only reason I even bother to play every so often. I'm hitting a 4 wood where I used to hit 7 iron. I hit a 8 iron where I used to hit an easy Sand Wedge. And still come up short.
I do enjoy being out there though but I think it's because I only play when the kids/grandkids or company visits. I wouldn't feel comfortable at all going out and getting paired up in a foursome of strangers. Used to love it, cause I'd usually be the best of the 4. Now, I'd just drag everyone down looking for my fucking ball.

Nope. And I saw that the network cut off the broadcast either before or during the playoff because it ran long and they had other programming scheduled.
